Workflow improvement suggestion: Auto-select all if nothing was selected when applying fx

Post by hardyharzen » Sat Nov 10, 2018 3:28 pm

Might be my particular use case, but I often import diskwritten WAVs to normalize and export as MP3 for further distribution. This currently requires selecting the entire audio file beforehand, as normalize will fail if passed no selection. Selection does not persist post fx application, either, so one has to repeatedly CTRL-A, which got me wondering if it wouldn't be more efficient in general to automatically select all audio when no audio was selected while applying fx, or maybe introduce an optional setting for this behavior if it's deemed too impractical for general use cases.

There is an option in Preferences: "Auto-select, if selection required:"
