what is better

Hi bros! I have a question
I have been recording using a Behringer Xenyx 802 analog mixer
What I have been doing is:
Connect mic on mixer and then connect a RCA cable to the tape out
That cable ends on a 3,5 jack that I connect on the LINE IN of my PC's soundcard. Then I'm able to record with a better sound (connecting the guitar directly to the line in sounds awful but somehow the sound gets better with my method)
Im thinking on buying the UCA 202 interface that lets me connect my mixer to PC via USB
(UCA 202 has an RCA input -mixer has an RCA output)

So, my soundcard is nothing from the other universe. in fact it's the motherboard's integrated soundcard

Do you think it would be better to use the UCA?
I tried using a chinese "Guitar Link" but it sounded awful. It's not the same right?
Thanks!

Yes.
How much better it sounds will depend on how good a signal you are getting from the mixer, but the UCA 202 will almost certainly be better quality than the laptop's built-in sound card. I wrote a review of the UCA 202 here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 545#p89545
