Mic Issues...Can't hear anything.
Hi. Whenever I use audacity with the mic built into my computer I can't hear anything. The wavelength in the menu just barely jumps but I'm practically screaming into the mic. Any ideas or will I have to buy a new mic?

If you assume the microphone doesn't have cat hairs in it or the computer is 5,000 years old, it should work just like it is. Did you open up the Windows Control Panel and push the faders up? there may be more than one. I had one Windows machine I had to push up three faders to get the microphone to work.

alright for some reason the mic's sound level was set to 6...out of 100. The web page didn't help cause I have vista but your advice did. thanks.
