Mic and Equipment advice for hypnosis cd

Hello,
I am interested in creating audio cd's of hypnosis session.
What kind of mic and equipment should I get to record a cd using a windows xp computer?
The computer has a mic and headphone port, usb port, the standard ports.
I guess this would fall under like podcasting.
There are two ways I want to record.
The first way I want to record is to sit down and talk to the mic and then go back and add music track to the recording.
The second way I want to record is a live hypnosis session and to be able to pause the recording and start the recording again to get the different area I just want to record. Then create a audio cd and give it the the client while they wait for it.
I wonder if the second way is easy to do and how long it would take to create the cd for the client?
Thanks for the help!
Sidney
