Recording over loop

Post by kosmickopp » Wed Jan 14, 2009 10:09 pm

New to Audacity. I want to use various Acid Loops as backing tracks. How do I make a loop play continuously while recording another track? While playing back a loop I can't record at all. What am I doing wrong?

select the audio that you want to repeat, then select "Repeat" from the effects menu and enter the number of times that you want it to repeat.

To hear other tracks while recording a new one, go to preferences (from Edit menu) and in the Audio I/O tab select "play other tracks while recording new one".
