Well, I tried the above but using Roxio Sonic to make the burn and the little glitches were almost gone. In fact sometimes it was seamless and other (most) times there was a tiny glitch, almost unnoticeable but still there. I tried using a pre-set cross-fade function with the other program (they call it "overlap") but it automatically inserts the track cue mark at the end of the previous track as opposed to the beginning of the new one (so if you were to play the final CD and jump from track to track it loses the beginning of each track for however much time is in the fade-in). In this other program there seems to be no way to insert or move the cues. *sigh*! I can't believe how much trouble this one little thing is.

Horror, I think your best bet is to start using CUE sheets to make discs. It's much more elegant and you'll gracefully sidestep all of the issues you're running into:

Once you have a cue sheet, I use Exact Audio Copy to burn it:
