Cassette digitizing help

Post by DrBenway » Sat Jan 07, 2012 9:07 pm

Hi all, I am having a bit of trouble with digitizing this certain cassette.

When I am digitizing it through playback, I can't seem to get the equal sound on both headphones, one side is amplified more, same goes for the other stereo, that is ampliying a certain sound. I have a terrible soundcard, but I am using a CI 1 Steinberg audio interface.

The cassette player should be connected with a suitable lead to both input 1 and 2 on the Cl1. You can then use the two "Gain" controls on the top of the unit so that you get a good level on both channels - aim for a maximum peak level in Audacity of about half the track height (about -6 dB).
