Mic Problem..

Hey...ok so i have this really weird problem that just started outta nowhere with my mic. im running my mic direct through the port and everytime i record with it the track is split into two boxes i guess? and only the top has the noise and the bottom is just a line. and when i play it back just the left side has sound but very distorted and noisy and the right has nothing. I been using audacity for a while and never had this problem...i have no clue how to fix this....can someone please help? i need help asap im trying to finish my rap album i need this to get on def jam Dx please someone help me !!!!
