If you have a conventional, non USB turntable, you can't plug it directly into a sound card, or you can, but it doesn't sound very good. There has to be a Phono Preamp somewhere in the mix. Are you using the "Tape-Out" of your entertainment amplifier?

Once you tell me that, we'll work on solutions.

You seem to missing the use of the "Caps Lock" key - please don't shout like that, writing in all caps actually makes the message harder to read ....

Note to Koz: there are some non_USB TTs out there with preamps built in (done to compensate for the fact that some modern amps don't have a phono input).

That looks like the right way to plug things together.

The pop you're getting is likely due to a DC offset during recording. After it's done recording, highlight the whole thing and use the Normalize effect to remove the DC offset. Does that get rid of it?

If it does, the only way to permanently get rid of it is to use a different sound card.
