Automatic Latency Correction?

Post by Pele Merengue » Sun Dec 30, 2007 7:17 pm

Why doesn't Audacity automatically correct for latency issues in the most recent stable and beta versions? I had to downgrade to a previous version (1.2.4) because it was such a pain in the ass to keep editing my latency figures every time I switched input devices.

I can't think of any sensible reason why it shouldn't be able do this anymore after it worked so well in previous versions.

Audacity 1.3.4 has latency compensation that works very well.
Manual setting allows for accurate results - on my machine I find that it is accurate to within a couple of samples.

Audacity 1.2.6 has automatic latency correction, but it's not as accurate as in v.1.3.4
