I was needing to be able to start, stop, backup, etc and a foot pedal that is normally used for transcription would be great. Has anyone ever been able to interface with one? Thanks

You could try modifying an old keyboard.

I don't know of any way to get the footswitch to work, but we did a thing a while back about the keyboard shortcuts.

I swear we had one poster who found a way to use the footpedal. Search the forum for "transcription."

Compatibility with foot pedal for business/medical transcrip
Would it be possible to configure Audacity to utilize a standard 3 button foot pedal? The 3 button foot pedal is a usb connection and the buttons are: rewind, play, fast forward. My wife currently uses express scribe which works for the foot pedal and she types in word doing business transcription. Using alt tab to switch between word and audacity would be very inconvenient to say the least.
