As you've probably noticed, if you ask three recording engineers about recording techniques, you'll get three different answers! :D

Well, at least the information I got from all of you makes sense and is very useful. My real hobby is audio (I design and build loudspeakers). When you ask for advice on one of those "hi-end" audio forums, you can get all kinds of nonsense. Try one, and see for yourself. As technical people, you might have a good laugh too :-)

If you have any other tips / tricks that might come in handy, please let me know!
