Color-coded tracks

Post by nice-pear » Sun Jun 08, 2014 2:43 pm

Ubuntu 12.04, Audacity 2.0.0, distribution install

I am wondering whether it's possible to change the color of certain tracks. I think it would be easier to keep everything organized if you could color, say, both rhythm guitar tracks green, each back-up vocal track red, etc.

Possible?

It's obviously possible and there is an unapproved patch to do it if you can recompile Audacity yourself: http://audacity.238276.n2.nabble.com/PA ... l#a7560796 . Compiling Audacity is fairly easy on Ubuntu. See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Compi ... ers#simple .

If you address the concerns that the developers had about the patch, feel free to post your modified patch to that -devel list topic.
