Microphone Programming

Hello,
I would like to ask how to get the input from the Microphone? We would like to see how to manipulate the microphone using c# but we are out of luck because we don't know how to stream the microphone. We are looking for a code that would look like the Volume Level Meter toolbar in AUDACITY. please reply. We need this to graduate.
