Z sounding sibilance

Occasionally when recording voice overs, I get a very sharp sibilance. With buzzing Z sound to it. It does not come up in the wave form as the traditional thick, sibilance sections. Some recording sessions are worse than others.

What causes this?

Can it be fixed in post production?

Spectrogram view is better than waveform view for locating excessive sibilance.

[IMO all excessive sibilance can be fixed in post, Audacity’s desibilator plugin is worth a try].
