I know this is like looking a gift horse in the mouth or however that phrase goes, but just wondering if the Audacity team is thinking about adding an ACRN feature as Tinnitus is really a huge epidemic now and the Audacity tool is literally helping millions of people who are suffering from Tinnitus including myself and if you’ve never had Tinnitus, its absolutely terrifying! For example, its almost impossible to get a few good hours of sleep at night as the constant screaming in my brain wakes me up almost as soon as i finally get to sleep, so there is never any piece a quiet ever! I used to wish for a million dollars, but now i only wish i didn’t have Tinnitus and would now be happy with 2 dollars in my pocket as my quality of life has gone from happy and healthy to crushing fear of being able to get enough sleep to get through the day!
And in Europe they have a whole industry catering to Tinnitus sufferers and basically all they provide is an ACRN file which as you know is a notch file with equally timed frequencies firing at once, so to create the ACRN feature, you would use the requested frequency and auto generate the other 3 frequencies equally spaced from the requested frequency.
So please consider adding the ACRN feature as that would be another huge benefit to using this already awesome tool and if you do i will personally rally the folks from Tinnitus Talk to contribute more to your great efforst!
