OK, so can we summarise these feature requests?
You want:
- A real time Metronome like Sonar has.
- A count-in before recording starts like Sonar has.
- Tempo detection for audio tracks like Sonar has.
- Selectable Tempo like Sonar has.
- Indication of bars and beats like Sonar has.
- Quantizing to beats like Sonar has.
- Punch in recording like Sonar has.
- An "event viewer" like Sonar has. (is that for MIDI events? If so then we would need to support MIDI recording, playback and editing)
Have I missed anything out?

I'll add them to Wiki FR's accordingly this topic could I think be deleted - unless we want to rename and archive it as an explanation to the unwary as to why Audacity does not have all of Sonar's features.
