Install FFMPEG prompt

Post by TechnoPorg » Mon Aug 10, 2020 1:36 am

When you go to import something like an mp4 file without having FFMPEG installed, Audacity tells you it can't import that file without FFMPEG. I think it would be really nice if it had some sort of button like "Click here to download and install FFMPEG", and you could press that button to have it installed without ever leaving Audacity. There's even a button in the "Libraries" section of the user preferences menu with a button that says something like "Download FFMPEG", but all it does is take you to the wiki page for how to install it. This isn't a big thing, but I think it would help make Audacity more user-friendly.
