clips time during Recording Sound activated recording

Post by ClaudioPorcellana » Sun Nov 18, 2018 11:35 am

Hi there

I'm using this feature to monitor night cranes passages and it is very useful to shortens recording but there is a drawback

with "Recording Sound activated recording", Audacity can write the file name with the time the general recording started, but the time when any single clip starts is lost

clearly, as Audacity doesn't account for pauses in recording, the timeline generated afterward is useless to know when cranes passed

I hope you'll find a way to record these times
cheers

Claudio

You could do a normal (not "sound activated") recording, then use "Sound Finder" to locate the sounds.
After you have noted the times, you could then use "Truncate Silence" to remove the unwanted silences.
