I can't get "windows directsound" item

All,
I compiled the source code to .exe file, but it doesn't have "windows directsound" item in Edit->Preference->Devices->Host.
How can I get it, thanks.

Please read "MSVC++ STEP 5: Consider and Configure Optional Features" (point 4) in wincompile.txt http://audacity.googlecode.com/svn/auda ... ompile.txt .
