Re: Audacity randomly stops recording after a few seconds
None of the suggestions I tried worked and while getting increasingly fed-up, I decided to randomly try altering various settings and finally found one that worked!
Edit-Preferences-Devices. Here I changed the recording device from "default" to:Intel ICH6: Intel ICH6 (hw:0,0) and since then the recording continues until I stop it. Tested for several minutes. A definite improvement on 6 seconds! Host setting is "ALSA"

Thank you for your feedback. It would also be helpful if you could provide some more information about your system... What distribution do you use? Are you running PulseAudio, JACK, ESD, or anything else beside the ALSA drivers? What sound devices do you have in your system? Built-in sound card? Anything else?garibaldy wrote:None of the suggestions I tried worked and while getting increasingly fed-up, I decided to randomly try altering various settings and finally found one that worked!

Thanks.
Include as much details as you can in your post (Audacity version, Operating System, Equipment used, etc).
Please post your question in the appropriate forum (regarding audacity version and operating system).

OpenSuse 11.3, kernel 2.6.34.7-0.7, running on a DELL Dimension 4700 with onboard sound card. To the best of my knowledge only ALSA drivers are installed.bgravato wrote:Thank you for your feedback.
