I am using Audacity 1.3.4-beta on OpenSUSE 11.0
I can record with no problem using KRecord 3.5.9
When I press the record button it opens a new track but the pointer does not move and the counters stay at zero. No error message comes up and I can stop the recording. I have tried all the settings in the Audio I/O and Quality pages, nothing changes.
Another couple of minor problems are that the volume and pitch controls affects the sound output of Amarok, also after I load Auducity I cant start KRecord and get the error message "Can't open soundcard: Device or resource busy".
Any help would be great.

Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O
set the recording and playback devices to "ALSA: default"
Restart Audacity and cross your fingers.
Use your Mixer application (Alsa Mixer, or whatever you use) to set recording levels, input sources and so on.
When the day comes that sound card manufacturers support Linux, we'll be laughing.
