Post by peropjot » Mon Sep 29, 2008 11:15 am

Who can help me?
I'm using Audacity 1.3.5 beta at Opensuse 11.0 (kde4)
I'll tried a lot but i can't import mp3 files
Exporting mp3 is no problem at all
I have installed Lame and libmad.

You don't need LAME for importing mp3's, just exporting them.
Do you have support for mp3's in your operating system? (can you play mp3's with other applications?)

Thanks for your reply

I can play mp3 music with Realplayer and Amarok.
Every time when i want to open a mp3 with Audacity, Audacity tells me that this version hasn't compiled mp3.

Well that's the problem then.
Where did you get Audacity from? is it the official version from the OpenSuse Repository?
If you have installed it from an RPM, then you may need to find a different version (one that includes MP3 support).

This may help (thanks Google :D )
yum remove audacity
yum install audacity-nonfree
