AUDICITY does not start

Post by riffnroll » Wed Jan 18, 2012 6:34 pm

accidentally change the location of temporary files for the session and so the program does not open, I get a notification window that says the program does not find the crapeta or location of temporary files and that the change in the configuration menu, but the program does not open. try uninstalling and installing it back but got the same result. there a way to reset the settings without opening the program???

Set your file browser to show hidden files (Ctrl+H if you use Nautilus).
Look in your home directory (/home/<username>/) for a folder called .audacity-data
(note: the dot at the beginning of the name makes it a hidden file)

Go into that folder and delete the file audacity.cfg
Audacity is now reset to "factory settings".

If you want to change the location of the temporary folder, check the address of the file and ensure that the folder exists before you click the OK button.
