Audacity ® 1.3.13-alpha-Feb 15 2011 (Unicode) / Linux 64-bit
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but I updated to the latest trunk (rev. 10944) and I can no longer find a Devices section in the Preferences dialog. The reason I'm looking is that playback is not working: the green bars are moving but there is no sound.
(alpha) Missing Preferences -> Devices section, no playback

Re: (alpha) Missing Preferences -> Devices section, no playb
Yes that is intentional, but I think the plan is for it to be reintroduced.
The "Device Toolbar" should now be working on all platforms so it was thought there would be no need to duplicate the same settings in "Preferences".
The Device Toolbar should now be visible by default, but if you have an audacity.cfg file from a previous installation it won't be (one of the reasons for re-introducing it in Preferences).
To enable the Device Toolbar go to "View menu > Toolbars".
