Won't play itunes songs.

Ok, so I just got my itunes songs off my itouch onto my laptop, I'm using linux. But when I try to play them on audacity, it says that it recognizes the file but can't understand the file format.... So i'm stuck, I don't know what to do. I've tried putting Mp3, and wav at the end of the file but the same thing comes up, any help?

Ok, I've downloaded the ffmpeg converter thingy with the synaptic pack manager on my
LINUX. I've followed the instructions of what to do after downloading it, but now, whenever I load up the file I want on audacity, it just closes down....Any help?
It just worked once... But it's not working anymore

Ok it seems to be working now. It's strange....I will open the file doesn't work, try a few more times and it works....
