A couple of things to try:
1)
There's no guarantee that Linux will report the name of the inputs correctly - If your hardware has a strange configuration (as suggested by Koz) then Linux may incorrectly name the inputs. Try the other inputs that are listed in Audacity Preferences.

2)
Try setting Audacity to use "default" and restart Audacity.
Right Click on the Record meter and start monitoring, then open the PulseAudio Volume Control and Audacity should be listed in the Record Tab.
Find the "Move Stream" option in the PulseAudio Volume Control and check that it is set to your sound card.
Open the "Gnome Volume Control" and in the "Options" tab try each of the options for the selected input source.

The bottom line is that there is no guarantee that all of the sound card inputs will work. The ALSA developers are often working with limited or no technical information from the hardware vendors and Apple are not renowned for encouraging competition.

Thanks! I will try that when I am back in my Ubuntu partition, and post back here. I have a cron tab set up using arecord that works very well to record from the radio, and then I bring the recording into Audacity to clean it up. This time I will try what you mentioned.
