Hey everyone,
I can't sing for shit, but I came up with a wicked awesome parody of a song. I've been working on the video putting off doing the singing. I have a recorded copy of me singing and ...well I know why I've been putting it off. I spent 3 hours in one sitting working this through for the 50th time. I'm practicing because I refuse to pay for autotune. I found autotalent and I'm really looking forward to playing with it.
On the ladspa.org site, they said you could put a plugin into the $HOME/.ladspa and any host program, Audacity being listed, should pick it up. That didn't work. Of course I tried the instructions in the Autotalent README but ran into missing dir issues. I have no clue what ladspa so I didn't create the dir at first. I thought something had to be installed. Then after visiting the site I created a dir /usr/lib64/ladspa. I copied the 64bit compiled version of autotalent into a newly created dir /usr/lib64/ladspa. I checked permissions were rx for both dir and lib. I tried /lib64. I searched for ladspa on my system and found a directory for audacious effects in /usr/lib64/audacious/Effects so I even tried to put it in there. I loaded up audacious and opened the preferences and checked out the Effects plugins and it wasn't listed there. Not quite sure what I'm doing wrong but nothing I can find in regards of information is working.
LOL I even talked to a guy on a YouTube video briefly. The video was about the autotalent plugin. I found the video looking for how to install the plugin.
I'm using Slackware64 13.0

Just a thought:
I didn't try compiling it.
Autotalent Slackware - nothing works

Re: Autotalent Slackware - nothing works
Yup, I had to compile it. Sorry for wasting your time with that long-assed post.

Note to self:
Don't try to auto tune 2 tracks at once. It ends up in a head on collision style thing....a crash I think it's referred to as.
...wow I have had 1 crash with about 50 hours of audacity usage playing with all of the plug-ins trying to get auto-tune effects without auto-tune. With autotalent, It has crashed about a dozen times now.

If you send along a .core file, also indicating the architecture and version of Audacity and Autotalent, I'd be happy to check whether it's something in the Autotalent code.WrinkledCheese wrote: ...wow I have had 1 crash with about 50 hours of audacity usage playing with all of the plug-ins trying to get auto-tune effects without auto-tune.
