I have downloaded a plug-in for audacity in .zip, that after I having it extract he has gone out a file with extension .ny and another .txt, but I don't know whether to install them.

You need to put the file with the .ny extension into the Audacity plug-ins folder.
On Ubuntu this is: /usr/share/audacity/plug-ins/
You will need to restart Audacity so that it can find the new plug-in
To make it easier to add/remove/modify plug-ins you can add yourself to the group permissions for that folder so that you have read/write permissions.
