Bug Report: Cut at end of recording leads to weirdness
Posted: Mon Jun 22, 2009 4:26 am
New project
New stereo track
Generate some white noise (I did about 5 minutes worth).
Zoom normal (Ctrl-2)
Scroll over to where you can see the end of the track
Click on the waveform somewhere before the end, say 5 seconds back or so.
Select to end (Shift-End)
Cut (Ctrl-X)
Click on the waveform, a few seconds before the new end
Play (Spacebar) and let it play to the end of the track.
Problems:
a) It never finishes playing. It should stop at the end of the modified sample.
b) The menus (File/Save, Edit/Undo, etc.) are all greyed out.
The Play button is still "in", as though it's still playing. Now "stop" the playback. Note that the menus are still greyed out, as though it were still playing.
Return to the beginning of the track (Home). Note that now the menus that were greyed out are now available.
Audacity is 1.3.7 built from the "full source" distribution off of sourceforge.
OS is OpenSuSE 11.1, with Gnome. Kernel 2.6.27.21-0.1-pae.
