Hi there,

I got Audacity 1.3.7.1 on Mac.

After I export my recording as MP3 and I played it on iTune and Quick time, the sound quality is horrible. Then I open the MP3 audio in Audacity, the sound quality has changed to very horrible as I played in iTune and Quick time, which it was very fine before i export it to MP3.

I try to export the same recording to WAV. The recording is playing fine in WAV.

Please help. Many thanks

You are probaly over-compressing the MP3 file. The Audacity default MP3 bitrate of 128 is normally regarded as the minimum acceptable for music - I personally use 192 (my son, with younger better ears, normally uses 320). If iPodshad been bigger when I started out I would probably have chosen 256.

To reset the export bitrate for your MP3s just click on the Options button from the Export dialogue box.
