Cannot Export (Newbie, somewhat technologically challenged)
I have a file in Audacity of an audio tape that I want to put into Itunes, but it won't let me export wav. or mp3. With wav., the error message is "cannot export audio to/Volumes/Audacity 1.3.5." I downloaded LAME v 3.98.2 to try making it an mp3. It went through the process and then said it was successful, but then I get an error message saying "can't open file'/Volumes/Audacity....(error 30: Read-Only file system)." As per other posts, I made sure my labels didn't have the punctuations in them etc., but that didn't help.

Have you ever Repaired Permissions on your machine? You can do a disk check while you're in there.
Go > Utilities > Disk Utility
Select your drive. Mine's called Jimmy Hard Drive. Sometimes they're called MacHD. Verify Disk. Don't repair anything.
When that completes, Repair Permissions. That one should crank for a while.
See if that helps. let us know.
