I am using Audacity version 1.3.3. on a Intel Mac with the latest OS Version.
I am trying to convert an old tape to mp3. I see the audio on Audacity but when I saved it in MP3 there is NO sound in the file. I have tried multiple time but no luck.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

It's important in Audacity to get the words right. Audacity will not save sound files. You have to Export to get a stand-alone sound file.
Do you get a working sound file if you Export As WAV?
