Audacity 1.2.5. for Mac intel

Why is it not possible to normalize at 0 dB?
I have to create many files for multimedia productions (mono voice over), this audio has to be delivered at 0 dB.
This is not possible in Audacity 1.2.5. only at -3 dB default. Why is that?

Why are you using Audacity 1.2.5? This option is available in Audacity 1.3.7

Contrary to the labels, Stable 1.2.5 on Mac/Leopard/Intel isn't stable. There are known issues with this combination. Mac/Tiger/Intel works fine and I use that combination, but probably shouldn't. Upgrade to 1.3.7.

You can have both 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine as long as you only launch and use one at a time. 1.2 projects will open up anywhere, but 1.3 projects will only open up in 1.3.

WAV files open up anywhere. AIFF files open on any Mac.
