Fade Effect time length

How do I control the length of time a fade in or fade out takes? Anyone know?
It takes the length of time you selected when you designed the fade. Click at the very end of the piece and then drag to the left four minutes. If you apply a Fade Out to that highlighted portion, the performance will fade for four minutes.
