Label Track limit on text entries?

I'm working on a three and a half-minute audio story, transcribing the dialog on a Label Track in order to use this as a script for adding the visuals later. About half way through, the Label Track seems to have stopped allowing me to make any further entries or even any further edits within its track.

Is there a limit on the number of entries that can be made on any one Label Track? If so, I can't find any reference in the manual or other Audacity forums.

Otherwise, any one know why my Label Track should lock up?

I think you won't be able to add more text in the label once you have reached as far as the playback has scrolled. Zooming in further should help.

Thanks. I discovered that if Label Track entries overlap, you can't open either one until you zoom in enough to separate them.

Object lesson: Keep plunking around with a problem and you're likely to stumble across a solution.

Michal - you can give the label track more room to operate in by expanding the track - click your cursor on the bottom of the label track and drag it down.

are you sure you are using 1.3.3? That version should be able to cope with overlapping labels e.g . if you type in one label and it overlaps one that already exists, the one that is in the way should jump down out of the way.
