Changing the language to Japanese

I want to change the language to English, but only Japanese appears in the interface drop down.

The wiki says "If you cannot see any other languages besides English in the dropdown, make sure the "Languages" folder is in the same folder as the Audacity program itself. On Windows. the Audacity program (audacity.exe) is normally at C:Program FilesAudacity. On OS X, the Audacity program (Audacity.app) is normally at /Applications/audacity. "

I can see no languages folder inside the package itself or in the applications folder. I am not sure what to do from here..

Help!

You downloaded the Audacity .DMG file suitable to your operating system and computer, right, and then double clicked on it. It should have opened up into a mounted "fake" disk drive with several files and folders:

Audacity.app
LICENSE.txt
README.txt
Languages Folder
Nyquist Folder
Pug-Ins Folder

I personally like to create a blank folder called Audacity in my /Applications folder and then drag all those files over to it.

If you're missing any of those files or folders--or they're not in an /Applications folder, trash everything and go searching for audacity.cfg elsewhere on your machine and trash that.

Download a fresh install and start over.

You can get a damaged Audacity install if you're starting to run out of hard drive space. Never let your System Drive drop below 10% free.
