I can't play imported songs on audacity pleas help?

I can't play imported songs on audacity pleas help?

I have audacity on my Macintosh computer. I put a couple of cd's on my computer and tried to put a song into audacity, I can import it or open it as a file but when I hit play it just makes this click noise and that's it. it shows audio waveforms but it doesn't play. can anyone help me?

you will need to re-rip those tracks as WAV files and then open them in Audacity.
