no audio being recorded

Need some help, anybody!
trying to record a live dj mix with Audacity. Here's my set up. cdj's & pioneer djm800, macbookpro(new), presonus audiobox22vsl interface. I have the mixer running into the interface with rca cables and the interface running into the mac with usb. i tried running the cables out of the mixer using the booth ports and the master ports and no audio being recorded what so ever. all the equipment is new so I'm thinking I'm hooking something up wrong or its something with my preferences. any info anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

What sort of Mac?

I have the 1.3.14 beta version just downloaded. I have a 17 inch macbook pro, 8gb ram, 750 hard drive & 2.4ghz quad i7 processor. I'm willing to talk over the phone to figure this out. Ive spent the past two days trying to record and it's getting frustrating.

With everything hooked up to the MacBook, and sound going out of the mixer into the presonus, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences, then the Sound Panel, then the Input tab. The presonus should show up as some type of USB input device. Select it in the input device list. You should now see and indication on the blue sound level meter. If you do not, then the problem is not with Audacity.

The presonus does not have RCA inputs. Are you using a dual RCA -> 1/4" cable? The 1/4" inputs on the front of the presonus are instrument inputs, not line level inputs, so this may cause problems with audio quality, but you should at least hear something.

If you plug headphones into the presonus, do you hear the output of the mixer?

Bill, thanks for the response. I have everything set the way you mentioned and still nothing. When i plug the headphones in the presonus, no sound at all. But when i click the mic-in tab the bluemeter picks it up from the pc. I have the rca cables running into the back of the presonus with 1/4 adapters into the main out ports. The rca cables are coming out of the master of the mixer. It it possible that the presonus is not configured right?

The main out ports on the back of the AudioBox are outputs, meant to drive monitor speakers or amplifers. The inputs are the combo XLR/quarter inch ports on the front.

ok, so i plugged the mixer in to the front inputs on the Audiobox and i have sound coming out the monitors that are plugged into the out ports of the audiobox. But Audacity or the Mac are not picking up any sound from the Presonus when i have the Presonus selected as the input device. When i change it to Mic-in input the Mac picks up the sound and audacity picks it up. So it looks like Audacity and the Mac are not picking up audio from the mixer thru the Audiobox. Any suggestions?
