Audacity Forum

i've used audacity before but for some reason or another i removed it from my ibook.
i just got it back because i've failed using audacity pro 1.1.1 and cubase se to record.

here is my set up.
ibook g4 connected to my usb audio device (american audio) which is connected to my mixer, to my serato scratch to 2 turntables.

i was attemptin to record my dj set but when i open audacity, the drop down menu for the input only has the internal mic as an option.
when i went to prefs, audio i/o tab, for recording device, it only has the "core audio: built in audio" and nothing else.
i've already set my system prefs to usb audio and away from the internal microphone.

i dunno wut else i'm supposed to do. my friend who has a similar setup has no problem recording using audacity.

all i wanna do is record my music to distribute to friends.

Why did cubase se fail?

i meant amadeus pro 1.1.1
with all programs i've used, it wont let me record unless im using the internal mic.
but im trying to use the line in to record.

i've already read thru that.
all the wiki tells you is to change the apple system prefs which i've already done.
it tells the diff between my line in and built in mic but once i open audacity,
theres only one option for recording device and its not my line in. so when i record, it picks up all the background noise with it.
