Hi - I am running Lion 10.7.2 and Audacity 1.3.13. Everything has been working fine until tonight when suddenly I get no sound from the turntable when I choose "Start Monitoring". The only change I have made to my system is an addition of the Algoriddim Djay app. Suddenly I get no sound from my Audio-Technica usb turntable. Everything has worked fine for over a year. I have checked all connections (everything is plugged directly into the computer not a hub) reverified all settings using the audacity manual (repeatedly). The only thing I saw that needed to be changed was I needed to click on the USB Audio CODEC in Audio Devices - not sure whether that was never clicked or if perhaps I somehow lost a setting. Regardless, I clicked it, rebooted, no good. I have verified settings are correct in DEVICES ( Host = Core Audio, PLAYBACK DEVICE - Built-In Output, Recording Device = USB audio CODEC 2 (Stereo). In RECORDING, Software Playthrough is checked. Under the Quality tab the settings read - Under Sampling - Default Sample Rate 44100 hZ, Default Sample Format - 16-bit Under Real Time Conversion sample rate = Fast Sinc Interpolation, Dither = None, under High Quality Conversion Sample rate = High Quality Sinc Interpolation, Dither - Shaped.
In other words, everything looks as the Wiki Help Page says it should. One other thing - in my Mac's System preferences under Sound/Input the blue lights in the Input level are moving.
But when I go to Audacity and choose "Start Monitoring" nothing happens. It doesn't even change the option to "Stop Monitoring."
I am at a complete loss and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Re: Suddenly Lost Sound
It would be perfectly logical for a DJ application to "volunteer" to manage your turntable "to help you."Algoriddim Djay app.
What happens if you uninstall the DJ application? Drag it temporarily to the Trash or an external drive and then disconnect it. Restart the computer.
