Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Please Help

Post by Taffypro » Mon Dec 19, 2011 4:23 pm

Hi,

I am trying to convert .mp3 to .wma on a Mac using Audacity. (Macbookpro running OSX 10.6.8). I've gone to the Preferences/Libraries trying to find the "libacodec.52.dylib" file. I am able to find this file in the User/library/application support/audacity/libavcodec folder. I am able to select it and hit open, but it does nothing after this..

I go back the the Preferences/Library and it still asks me to locate this folder. When I try to export my .mp3 as a .wma I get the following error "Properly configured FFmpeg is required to proceed. You can configure it at Preferences>Libraries.

Any help would be great!

Gary

Audacity 1.2 is not supported under Mac-OS-X 10.6. Under certain conditions, it won't even launch.

Download and install Audacity 1.3 from here and get the FFMpeg from the same place.

http://audacityteam.org/download/

FFMpeg should come with its own installer. Double click on the package and it should install itself.

This is the Audacity 1.2 part of the forum.
Audacity 1.2 does not support FFMpeg.
