Inconvenient window positioning on startup
Whenever I go to startup Audacity, the window spawns in such a position that the title bar is behind the menu bar! What's going on and is there any way I can fix this?
BTW This is a school computer, so I can't do anything that requires root.

Re: Inconvenient window positioning on startup
Exactly which version of Audacity are you running? Choose Audacity > About Audacity and tell us the 3-part version number. This issue was resolved a couple of versions ago.

Re: Inconvenient window positioning on startup
Can you open the <home>/Library folder? If so, go to <home>/Library/Application Support/audacity. Trash the "audacity.cfg" file (this is the old "delete the preferences file when all else fails" trick). Then open Audacity. The window should open in the default location.

I am the programmer who last worked on that code and I thought it was all working just fine. Since I have now seen more than one report of this in the last few weeks I know something is going astray. I sure would like to see a copy of the "audacity.cfg" file which was causing the problem.DevEd wrote:It worked!
I do have a repair for the problem which has been posted by the Audacity Team for testing but as the problem is so rare and transitory it has not been tested yet. PM me or post here and I will point you to the DMG.

Can you find out which version of OS X is being used:DevEd wrote:It worked! Thanks

The other recent report we had of this was on OS X 10.7.2. It could be Apple changed something that affects this.
