stop and pause stuck together! (SOLVED)

Help - I can't record because everytime I press "record" the "pause" button is activated - it won't go away no matter what I try. I have been using Audacity successfully for about a year, and never have had a problem! Help!!!! I need to record. Do I need to download the program all over again?

Are you sure you're using Audacity 1.2? The problem you describe sounds like you have Sound Activated Recorded enabled, and that can only be done in 1.3.

Thank you - you are correct! I do have the 1.3 version, and I did have the Sound Activated Record on!!! Problem now solved - a million thanks!
