How to divide a WAV into tracks and "single play" them?

Hei community,

I need your help:
for a theatre project I am trying to do the following:
I'd like to create one big WAV file which contains all the music material for a show.
Now I'd like to create markers indicating the beginning and ending of certain "tracks".
Finally I would like to play the file with Audacity stopping the playback at each marker and waiting for another hit to continue- basically like a "single play" mode on a CD player...

Is that possible? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Greets from Cologne, Germany....

Audacity is a good tool for preparing all of your individual tracks, but then I would recommend "MultiPlay" by Audio Visual Devices for playing them. https://www.audiovisualdevices.com.au/s ... /index.php (it's free and very good).

Oops, should have guessed that from the forum.
I've not used it, but have a look at Qlab. http://figure53.com/qlab/
Unfortunately it is no longer free, but it looks like there's a free trial version.
