Toggling track muting in beta versions?

I am using a Macbook Pro to import mp3 tracks and then add my own guitar and vocals. So lots of tracks to mix.

Track muting is great when in the orginal view where I can turn various tracks on and off and listen, but when I get a big of them and choose the "fit in window" or "fit vertically" options in the view menu to do file management the mute /solo buttons disappear and I can't figure out how to toggle back to the original view. I can mute all or unmute "all tracks" but can't get back the mute and solo buttons for individual tracks anymore. 1.2 instructions don't seem to apply. Instructions? Thanks.

Use the "Collapse all tracks" (Shift+Ctrl+C) instead of "Fit to Window"
you can then use "Expand All Tracks" (Shift+Ctrl+X) to get at the mute (and other) track controls.

Did you try keyboard shortcuts, as listed in Edit > Preferences > Keyboard ?
(perhaps to be found in the Help > Index, too)

There is
Mute/Unmute focused track... Shift-U
and
Solo/Unsolo focused track.. Shift-S
Hmm, I would not like to use toggle controls if I do not see the buttons.

If you would like to have
. Mute focused track
. Unmute focused track
. Solo focused track
. Unsolo focused track
in the Preferces > Keyboard, make a feature request.
(The keys may but do not need to by assigned by default, this can be done by interrested user.)
