I need to record webinars and meetings... record the audio of me talking on my usb headset and the audio from the computer of the webinar presenter/guests/panelist or other people in the online meeting.
Is this possible with Mac and Audacity. Been wracking my brain and trying everything I can think of to do this.
Thanks

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Re: Recording Go To Meeting
I don't think this is possible at all. Even the Go To Meeting management tools only let the conference administrator record the meeting. Nobody else. Can you get a copy from them?s this possible with Mac and Audacity. Been wracking my brain and trying everything I can think of to do this.
If you're on USB headset, even the desperation method of recording it on the second Mac or other stand-alone recorder wouldn't work.
The problem with recording a conference on either Windows or Mac is the machines only have one record and one playback channel. Skype, etc, uses them up. Done. The special purpose software package designed to do this like Skype/Pamela and Total Recorder create and manage more sound channels in memory and use them divorced from the regular channels. It's not easy.
Conferencing software is extremely brittle. Maintaining a conversation and managing echoes, directionality and gain is a very hard job. You can't just charge in there and "borrow" sound feeds.
Read through the software descriptions for WireTap and Audio Hijack. I'm pretty sure SoundFlower isn't going to do this. It's too simple. Audacity certainly isn't going to help. Audacity does not Play Well With Others and likes running on really simple machines.

I wrote this while Koz was replying and he's on a Mac and i'm not. See https://www2.gotomeeting.com/default/he ... ebinar.htm for confirmation of what Koz says about the Mac version of Go to Meeting not offering their recording feature.J Jackson wrote:I need to record webinars and meetings... record the audio of me talking on my usb headset and the audio from the computer of the webinar presenter/guests/panelist or other people in the online meeting.

I noticed some search results suggesting you might be able to use Soundflower and Linein and the principles here, changing "Skype" to Go to Meeting and "Garage Band" to Audacity. If Go to Meeting won't let you choose audio devices you could try setting the system output to Soundflower. Tentative suggestion only.

Re: Recording Go To Meeting
My first guess is no. All SoundFlower does is create extra "leakage" pathways like Stereo Mix on a Windows machine. That will drive the conference sound managers and directional echo cancellation nuts. I wouldn't be surprised if it was locked out like what Skype does.
Give it a shot. Post back if you get it to work.
