1.3.12 FFMpeg backwards compatible?

I found myself needing the FFMpeg software and the Audacity on this machine is 1.3.12 for Mac OS-X.

1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo
2GB Memory
Snow Leopard OS-X 10.6.7

Lame installed perfectly first time out, but I have no idea where the installer put FFMpeg. Audacity can't find it and I'm not so sure I can find it, either. I got both downloads from the web site.

1.3.12 will want FFmpeg 0.5 .

1.3.13 will accept 0.5 or greater, so works with 0.5 or the 0.6.2 version on Buanzo's site.

Both the above assume no permissions problems and that if needs be you can extract the files to your own user space and point Audacity to "libavformat-52.dylib".
