Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

sharing files between mac and pc platforms

Post by louis5560 » Thu Jun 09, 2011 3:06 pm

As a music teacher, I would like to send AUP files to students and have them record themselves singing their part. Will I have issues with students who open the file on a PC if created on a Mac?
Further, when they save their file and send it back, is there anything specific I should include in the instructions to make the process as streamlined for the students?

Thanks in advance.

I assume you mean AUP files (.aup). You can't just send the AUP file - you must also include the _data folder that goes with it.

See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Audacity_Projects

Unless you are wanting to deal with multi-track projects than you may find it easier to export WAVs to send to each other.
