detach at Silencese for imported wav file
I can use "detach at Silence" command properly when I use it right after recording by audacity, but once save to the external file as wav and import the wav file to audacity, the same command won't work properly (cannot detect and mark label any more) for specifiled file. Does anybody have solution ?

Re: detach at Silencese for imported wav file
"Detach at Silences" works on absolute silence. When you export, dither noise may be added. You could turn dither off (click Audacity > Preferences: Quality and set "Dither" under "High-quality conversion" to "None") but dither can be beneficial. If you want to label silences, use Analyze > Silence Finder instead where you can specify the volume level which is treated as "silence".mtanaka1011 wrote:I can use "detach at Silence" command properly when I use it right after recording by audacity, but once save to the external file as wav and import the wav file to audacity, the same command won't work properly (cannot detect and mark label any more) for specifiled file.
